PRESS RELEASE: Anne Curtis’ Guide to Summer Travel Essentials

You’ve filed for leave, booked your tickets, reserved the hotel and mapped out your itinerary. Perhaps the only thing you have to do now is pack—arguably the most stressful thing you have to do before you go off your much-awaited summer jaunt.

So take your cue from Anne Curtis, Brand Ambassador of American Tourister Philippines, whose busy lifestyle, wanderlust and love for the season has narrowed it down to the most useful travel must-haves for the season. Between jetting off to Australia to spend time with family, wanting to explore Hamilton Island or the Northern Territory or even checking off Nepal this year on her summer go-to list, here are some of her summer travel essentials.

Sunnies
What would summer be without a nice pair of sunglasses? Whether you’re sunbathing on a sunny coast or touring exotic new locales, nothing says relaxed sophistication than a sun-drenched photo of yourself sporting your favorite pair.

Sunblock
It’s summer after all—so expect the rays to beat down. Be sure to slap on a lot of sunblock to protect yourself as you lounge by the shore or walk the streets of a new a city.

The throw-on dress
Pack one of the most versatile pieces you can possibly bring on any trip—a simple, airy shift dress can be work with comfortable flip-flops or sandals for a leisurely stroll, over swimwear as a cover-up or if accessorized right, becomes a simple, night-out look.

The all-around clutch
Pack your daily essentials into a roomy clutch that can carry your passport, tickets, wallet, cellphone and all your other must-have travel essentials that you want easy access to. Not only will you know where to find everything as you rummage through your carry-all, it can double as a handy little clutch for nights out.

Your cellphone
It has a camera, first of all—so you can easily take memorable snaps from your trip for posterity and doubles as an entertainment source for all your favorite films and music. On a more practical note, it helps to have your phone with you (even when on vacation) just to make sure that you can communicate in the event of an emergency.

A good book
It’s a great way to pass the time while waiting for flights and it’s an absolute essential as you try to soak in the seaside rays.

Your favorite swimwear
The great thing about this season is the sheer variety of swimwear options that you have at your fingertips. A bikini, a one-piece, a tankini, rashguards, board shorts, you name it. They’re pretty lightweight so you can easily pack as many as you want.

Your dependable luggage
Speaking of packing, you’ll need a trusty, dependable yet fashionable suitcase that’s sturdy enough to withstand even the longest of flights and keep your precious travel essentials tucked neatly (and safely)  away until they’re ready for use. Choose one in a lively, bright hue, like the limited edition HS MV+ Landmark Prints line from American Tourister, which is available in fun, candy colors, to make it easily recognizable as it emerges from the baggage carousel. And when it comes to the most convenient soft case options, Gelato goes easily on the overhead compartments or as conveniently checked-in while  the Buzz backpack line and Jiffy Duffle line comes in stylish, understated hues perfect for sightseeing.

For Anne, American Tourister has always been her go-to pick for all her travel needs—a brand that has been trusted through the years by travellers for its dependability and exceptional style and allows her to check off one less thing on her travel to-do list.

As for Anne’s perfect summer day?

“Lying down on a beautiful beach, getting a tan and reading an awesome book and just eating ice cream,” she shares.

And if you keep her summer travel essentials in mind as you pack for your perfect summer day, all you have to worry about now is choosing your ice cream flavor and finding that perfect Instagram filter to capture the moment.

BDJ Box ~ Spring Into Beauty (April 2015)

Staying pretty under the harsh summer sun is tough and near impossible (you know what I mean right?).

So I was just happy to see April's BDJ box aptly titled, "Spring into Beauty".  This month's theme is all about, ensuring every Bella enjoys her beauty aura, regardless where she goes!  It was exactly what I needed.

What is inside my beauty box?

1. Tony Moly Intense Care Snail Foot Mask, 18g (P198)

An intense care snail foot mask, to moisturize and provide nutrition to your dry skin. I used my sample immediately (felt my feet needed pampering, then and there). My feet felt smooth instantly.

2. Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Facial Scrub, 100g (P120)

Removes dead skin making it supple and smooth, giving it a radiant glow.

3.  Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub, 20ml (P15)

Exfoliates dead skin cell to reveal fairer and skin.  I think this would be perfect after a day out under the sun.

4. My Choice Bubble Shower Salt 2-in-1, 225g (P100)

This 2-in-1 scrub shower salt promises healthier, glowing skin with everyday use.   Smells good. This would be great for a luxurious, me time de-stressing shower.

We all know Mustela right?  Mustela products are really good (also quite expensive), unfortunately, the ones that came in the box are sampler sizes.

5. Mustela 2-in-1 Hair and Body Wash, 200ml (P520)

This one is a tear free cleanser specially formulated for babies and baby-like delicate skin.

6. Mustela Stretch Marks Double Action, 150ml (P1750)

The Mustela Stretch Marks product helps reinforce the skin's elasticity and stimulates skin renewal. I help prevents stretch marks, while moisturizing skin.

7. Mustela Hydra Bebe Body Lotion, 300ml  (P790)
The Mustela baby lotion is designed for the daily use of your baby. It contains vegetable oils and vitamins E and F.

8. My Choice Pure Herbal Soap, 100g  (P55)

A cleanser, exfoliator and moisturizer. It is made of all natural ingredients that helps repair skin damage, like wrinkles and acne.

9. My Choice Anti Acne Cream, 20g (P100)

This product is made up of anti-acne ingredients for an acne free skin.  How cool is that?  I wish I knew of this back when I was an acne magnet teener.

10. FS Cosmetics Lash Extravance Mascara, 9g (P350)

I love my lashes big, bold and flirty. It make me feel sexier.
Perfect for a romantic, night out with hubby :P

11. Revlon Highlighting Palette, 7.5g (P625)

My favorite item in the box, is this Revlon Highlighting Palette.  I love Revlon products, they may be a bit expensive, but Revlon does wonders for me!

12. My Choice Perfume Spray, 22ml (P60)

My Choice Perfume has 15 different scents to choose from.  I got Romance in my box.  I have tried wearing it ones or twice and smells like sampaguita.  It doesn't last long though and would require constant re-application.

The came  with a bonus Tony Moly Luminous  Glow Aura CC Cream. It is an all-in one product that whitens skin, while providing sun protection, lotion, moisturizer and a make-up primer.

A 30ml pack cost P1098.  Too bad I only got a sampler.

Approximate box cost is P1600 (excluding sampler products), well worth my initial P580 investment.
